Rotary Club of Kathmandu Establishes Computer Vocational Training Center for Human Trafficking Survivors in Butwal

Butwal, May 2, 2026 – The Rotary Club of Kathmandu officially handed over a Computer Vocational Training Center to Aashish Social Service Nepal in Butwal, marking the successful completion of a Rotary District Grant project.

The handover ceremony was conducted in the presence of Chief Guest District Governor Nominee RID 3292 Dr. IP Dhakal, alongside Club President Rajendra Gautam and President Elect Puspa Raj Sharma.

The newly established center is now fully operational and prepared to provide structured computer training programs aimed at empowering survivors of human trafficking. The initiative was implemented in partnership with Brighton North Rotary (District 9800), with additional support from Every Daughter Matters, Australia.

With a total project budget of AUD 11,000, the project also received valuable contributions from the Rotary Clubs of Chadstone/East Malvern and Hawthorn. The collaboration between local and international Rotary clubs, together with partner organizations, reflects a strong shared commitment to combating human trafficking and supporting survivors through sustainable, skill-based rehabilitation initiatives.

The training center will offer rescued girls opportunities to develop essential digital skills, build self-confidence, and improve their employability. Through practical computer education, the program is expected to play a significant role in the long-term rehabilitation and reintegration of survivors, helping them achieve financial independence and a more secure, self-reliant future.
