Rotary Club of Kathmandu carried out Project JHOLA and Sports Materials distribution in Mahawai Rural Municipality, Kalikot, on 17 March 2026, providing educational and sports support to more than 2,200 students from local community schools.
Under the initiative, students were provided with school bags and essential educational materials aimed at supporting their studies and improving access to basic learning resources. The project also placed a strong emphasis on sports development, with sports equipment distributed to 11 schools across the municipality.
The beneficiary schools included Shree Mahawai Basic School, Shree Chandadevi Secondary School, Shree Kalika Secondary School, Shree Ram Secondary School, Shree Jaganath Basic School, Shree Dev Basic School, Shree Tribeni Secondary School, Shree Himalaya Secondary School, Shree Tila Model Secondary School, Shree Sangin Basic School and Shree Jhalfa Basic School.
The programme was attended by Rajendra Gautam, who highlighted the importance of community partnership in enhancing educational opportunities and encouraging youth participation in sports in rural areas.
Project JHOLA forms part of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu’s wider commitment to supporting education, youth development and community welfare in underserved regions of Nepal.
