The Rotary Club of Kathmandu proudly celebrated its 69th Installation Ceremony on 8 July 2026 at the Best Western Plus Hotel, Kathmandu, marking another significant milestone in its distinguished legacy of service, fellowship, and leadership.
The ceremony was graced by District Governor Elect Rtn. Prof. Dr. IP Dhakal as the Chief Guest and Assistant Governor Rtn. Nischal Bahadur Shrestha as the Guest of Honor. The event was also attended by Governor Council Members, District Officials, fellow Rotarians, and other distinguished guests, making the occasion truly memorable.
A highlight of the evening was the installation of Rtn. Prof. Dr. Puspa Raj Sharma as the 61st President of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu, the first Rotary club in Nepal. He formally assumed leadership from Immediate Past President Rtn. Rajendra Gautam, the Club’s youngest President to date, symbolizing a seamless transition and the Club’s continued commitment to Rotary’s enduring values and vision.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of the Rotary Club of Kathmandu Vocational Award to Mrs. Sushila Dhakal, a differently abled professional, in recognition of her outstanding dedication, unwavering perseverance, and exemplary service to the people of Nepal through her distinguished career in government service. Her remarkable achievements stand as an inspiration to the community and reflect the spirit of service above self.
