The Rotary Club of Kathmandu is proud to lead a crucial initiative: the ICT Training Project for public school teachers. This flagship program was born out of necessity during the COVID-19 lockdowns when many public and community schools struggling due to limited resources and a lack of IT skills among their educators.
Recognizing this critical gap, the Rotary Club of Kathmandu stepped in to empower public school teachers with essential IT skills. The goal was clear: to ensure the continuity and advancement of the teaching-learning process for all students. They also strategically prepared a pool of trainers from within public school teachers themselves, enabling the expansion of this vital training to all provinces across Nepal.
To date, the project has organized a series of impactful training sessions, benefiting more than 912 public school teachers from 553 schools throughout Nepal. This widespread reach highlights the program’s success in bridging the digital divide and strengthening the foundation of public education in the country. The project is also supported by Rotary Nepal Literacy Mission. In RY 2024-25, 321 teachers from 202 different schools were benefitted.
